Hi everybody,
October and November are quite busy with various jazz concerts at Bull’s Head Barnes, Farnham, Bracknell, Walton and Hampton.
On Saturday 2nd November Way Out West will be running a day of jazz workshops in memory of one of my students Neil Hamilton at RHACC Richmond culminating in a concert by WoW musicians and students.
Nette and I are performing in two London Jazz Festival concerts – Celebrating 20 years of Way out West on 20th November at Riverhouse Barn, Walton, and with our own big band – the Nette and Tony Jazz Orchestra on 24th November at Hampton Hub where I’m sure there’ll be a rousing rendition of this folk tune that I recorded first on the “Lowlands” album – Old Joe Clark

Tell a story – keep hold of your narrative thread. One approach can be to repeat a rhythmic motif but change the notes. As the chords change alter the pitches to fit the chords but keep the rhythm the same.
